The Four Pillars
Year-Round Strength Development
Hybrid in-season/off-season programming focusing on arm care, mobility, explosive strength & power development, speed, agility, and rotational power.
Off-season programming focusing heavily on arm care, mobility, max strength & power development, plus linear speed and lateral quickness.
In-season programming focusing heavily on mobility, arm care, injury prevention, and rotational power.
Hybrid programming focused on building 'work capacity,' setting 'the base,' and establishing strength & performance volume for the following training season.
What Our Athletes Are Saying
"In a month and a half I was able to: get my squat, deadlift, and bench to the highest they've been in years — and became completely painless in my back and knees after dealing with years of pain. Got my velo back up to low 9s and upper 8s with much less effort and more body control. And my arm is the healthiest it's felt in a long time. Can't thank you enough Dave."
"Athletek exceeded all of our expectations from the very beginning. They took the time to truly understand our son — evaluating his strengths, weaknesses, and overall needs before any training began. Despite an injury mid-program, the Athletek team modified his training and he still made meaningful gains in velocity, pitching mechanics, and strength. This program was absolutely worth the investment. We could not be more pleased with both the process and the results."
"Great place to train and get ready for the next level. Athletek really helped shape my body and approach in order to be productive at the college level."
"I just wanted to let you know that I made the Pius JV team. I wanted to thank you for believing in me this whole process and being there for me every step of the way. I feel like the training I got from Velo, Barrels, and Strength really helped me."
"RBI single and a glimpse of the speed — the training has translated directly to the field. Off to a great start this season."
Frequently Asked Questions
Our S&C program is designed for middle school through professional level athletes. The programming is built to scale — whether you're a 13-year-old just starting your development journey or a college/pro athlete looking to maximize your performance. Every athlete is assessed individually and trained at the appropriate intensity and volume for their stage of development.
Most sessions run 45–75 minutes depending on the phase of training and the athlete's level. During the off-season, athletes typically train 3 days per week. During the season, we scale back to 2–3 days depending on your schedule to complement your game and practice load without adding unnecessary fatigue. The program is designed to fit around baseball — not compete with it.
Most athletes notice improvements in energy, movement quality, and body awareness within the first 2–4 weeks. Measurable gains in strength, speed, and on-field performance typically show up in the 6–12 week range — which is exactly why each phase of our program is built in 12-week blocks. The athletes who commit to the full year-round system see the most dramatic long-term results.
Yes — and you should. Travel ball is one of the most physically demanding stretches of the year, and athletes who stop training completely during that period often show up to the fall in worse shape than when they left. Our Summer phase is specifically designed for the travel ball athlete — focused on maintaining strength, protecting the arm, and managing workload so you stay healthy and perform at your best all summer long.
Yes — the research is clear on this. Athletes who maintain strength training during the season are less likely to get injured, maintain their velocity and bat speed deeper into the year, and recover faster between games. The key is programming it correctly. Our in-season phases are intentionally lower in volume and higher in quality — designed to maintain everything you built in the off-season without adding stress on top of your game schedule.
Both options are available. In-person training takes place at the Athletek facility where you'll work directly with our coaching staff. For athletes outside the area or with scheduling constraints, our programming is fully accessible through the Athletek Baseball Training App — complete with video explanations for every exercise and drill so you can train anywhere with the same system.
Not at all. We work with athletes at every experience level — from those who have never touched a barbell to athletes who have been training for years. Every new athlete goes through an initial assessment so we understand exactly where they are physically before any training begins. From there, the program is built to meet them where they are and progress them safely and effectively.
